The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position(s) of School Psychologist Intern, for the 2024-2025 school year.
Salary Range: $42,300.00-67,825.00 (Salary is dependent on years of experience and educational level) This position is part of the Certified Bargaining Agreement and placement on the salary matrix will be limited to eight years of service/experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current graduate student enrolled in a psychology program.
- Valid Montana Class 6 Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement(s). (Must have valid Montana teaching certificate prior to employment or to get one in the immediate future.)
- Will work under the guidance and direction of a licensed School Psychologist, serving as a specialized staff member in evaluating students’ academic skills, learning aptitudes, emotional development, adaptive behavior, and social skills.
- Experience working in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
- Experience working with k-12 students
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks; maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and other school personnel.
- Meet schedule and compliance deadlines.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license; willingness to provide own transportation in conduct of work assignments as you will be required to travel from site to site to work with students and faculty at all sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead psycho-educational and formal behavior assessments; write quality, compliant assessment reports.
- Attend IEP meetings; present assessment findings to the team.
- Assist in the implementation of assessment recommendations as needed.
- Partcipate in the pre-referral process and provide consultation to school teams regarding intervention supports for struggling students.
- Work with parents to build knowledge of disability and inclusive support for students with disabilities.
- Assist in providing consultation and advice to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special education programs as appropriate.
- Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate.
- Maintain compliant practice.
- Participate in frequent, direct and indirect, supervision with Student Services as well as other members of the school psych team (if applicable).
- Some campuses may require consultation, collaboration, creation, and implementation of 504 plans.
- Some campuses may require additional consultation around social emotional and behavioral systems and structures.
- Some campuses may require additional counseling and other intervention supports
- Conducts themselves in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner at all times.
- Maintains an exemplary level of confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates a commitment to his/her on-going professional development.
